Anglesey Winter Show 2026: Dates, Classes and Visitor Guide
On this page
Anglesey Winter Show returns to the Anglesey Showground at Gwalchmai on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026. The two-day indoor agricultural event brings together livestock and equestrian classes, produce, crafts, machinery, a dog show and early Christmas shopping. It is a smaller, colder-season companion to the county show held in August.

Anglesey Winter Show 2026: what is it?
The Winter Show is organised by the Anglesey Agricultural Society, whose annual county show dates back to 1872. The society describes its showground as a 160-acre site in the heart of the island. Its winter event brings agricultural competition and rural community activity under cover at a time when the outdoor show season has largely finished.
The published 2026 sections include cattle, sheep, horses, cookery, handicrafts, floral work, photography, farm produce, eggs and small pets. Visit Wales also lists machinery, a dog show and craft stalls. Final rings, classes, traders and timings can change when the detailed schedule is released.

What visitors can expect
Livestock judging is central to the weekend, but the show is not only for competitors. Visitors can watch animals being prepared and assessed, browse produce and homecraft entries, see agricultural machinery and shop among seasonal stalls. The indoor format makes the event more weather-resistant than a summer field show, though parts of the site and the journey between parking and buildings may still be exposed.
Do not assume that every section runs continuously on both days. If one class or breed matters to you, wait for the current timetable and plan around its published ring time.

A simple first-time plan
- Check the final opening hours, admission arrangements and programme.
- Choose one livestock or equestrian section you particularly want to see.
- Arrive early enough to park and find the correct building without rushing.
- Use the quieter gaps to visit produce, crafts and machinery.
- Allow extra time before leaving if traffic is building around the showground.
Agricultural shows work best when the timetable guides the day rather than becoming a checklist. Watching one class properly often gives more insight than hurrying past every ring.

Tickets and admission
At the time of checking, the date and competitive sections were published but a complete visitor admission table was not. Do not reuse prices from the August Anglesey Show or from an earlier Winter Show: they are separate events. Use the society’s current Winter Show page or its official booking route when visitor tickets become available.
If using a digital ticket, download it or save a screenshot before reaching the gate. The ticketing help page warns that mobile reception cannot be guaranteed at the showground.
Getting to the showground
The venue is Anglesey Showground at Gwalchmai, near the centre of the island. Its postcode is LL65 4RW. The site is close to the A5 and can be reached from the A55, but event traffic may make the final approach slower than a normal journey.
Follow the organiser’s temporary signs and parking instructions rather than relying only on the postcode. Confirm any public-transport option against a live timetable and make sure the return service still runs after the part of the programme you want to see.

Families, animals and accessibility
Children may enjoy seeing livestock at close range, but this remains a working agricultural event. Keep behind barriers, follow stewards and ask before touching an animal. Sudden movement, noise and unfamiliar dogs can unsettle livestock. Wash hands after animal areas and before eating.
Anyone needing step-free access, a nearby parking space or other adjustments should ask the organiser about the exact buildings used in 2026. “Under cover” does not prove that every route, threshold or viewing area has identical access.
What to wear and bring
- Warm layers for an unheated agricultural venue.
- Waterproof footwear with a good grip.
- A compact waterproof layer for outdoor sections and parking.
- A charged phone containing tickets and the return journey.
- Card plus a small amount of cash, subject to the organiser’s current payment advice.
Make a wider Anglesey weekend of it
The showground is practical for a rural event, but it is not a town-centre attraction. If staying on the island, keep the second part of the day flexible and weather-aware. Our guide to places to visit in Wales provides broader trip ideas, while the story of Halen MĂ´n sea salt adds a separate Anglesey food connection. Always check winter opening hours before adding another attraction.

Before you travel
- Confirm the show is proceeding on your chosen day.
- Check the final programme, ticket price and payment method.
- Save any digital ticket for offline use.
- Recheck parking, road and weather information.
- Ask the organiser about any specific access requirement.
