Green Man Festival 2026 runs from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 August, with Mogwai, Wilco, Four Tet and Wolf Alice leading the four daily bills. The line-up below was checked against Green Man's official day pages on 15 August 2026. Artists, stages and set times can change, so use the final festival schedule before choosing between clashes.

Green Man takes place near Crickhowell in Bannau Brycheiniog. Its programme is spread across areas including the Mountain Stage, Far Out, Walled Garden, Rising, Chai Wallahs, Last Laugh and Cinedrome. The official site also lists science, workshops, performing arts and children's activities, so a music-only plan sees only part of the festival.
Thursday 20 August: Mogwai and the opening-night choices
Thursday centres on Far Out, where Mogwai sit above Lime Garden, Charlotte Church's Pop Dungeon, Friko, Userband and Madra Salach on the official day page. Charlotte Church's set is a deliberately exuberant covers show, not a conventional solo concert.
The Walled Garden gives the first evening a particularly Welsh route. Its bill includes CVC, Art School Girlfriend, MWSOG, Tai Haf Heb Drigolyn, Neve Cariad and Dafydd Owain. Cinedrome offers Blue Velvet, Supernature, The Fifth Step and Turner and Constable for anyone who wants a seated break from the stages.
Friday 21 August: Wilco, comedy and Welsh films
Wilco lead Friday's Mountain Stage, with Aldous Harding, Dry Cleaning, Shame, Westside Cowboy, Ata Kak, Tyler Ballgame and tall child also listed there. Far Out includes Baxter Dury, Getdown Services, Sprints, Smerz and Marie Davidson live, while the Walled Garden includes Avalon Emerson and the Charm, ML Buch, Adult DVD and The New Eves.
Friday has the clearest comedy cluster. Joe Lycett, Stewart Lee, Bridget Christie and Josie Long are all on the Last Laugh list, alongside Athena Kugblenu and others. The Cinedrome programme includes Effi O Blaenau, Tŷ Unnos and Yr Wyddfa, as well as Trainspotting and a Ffilm Cymru panel.
Saturday 22 August: Four Tet, Cate Le Bon and the busiest bill
Four Tet tops Saturday's Mountain Stage, followed on the official page by The Beta Band, Cate Le Bon, Nation of Language, Horsegirl, Ana Frango Elétrico, Tamikrest and Boss Morris. Far Out adds Celeste, Mannequin Pussy, Daniel Avery live, A Place To Bury Strangers, Ben UFO and The Bug Club.
This is the day most likely to create difficult choices across different tastes. The Walled Garden carries Sorry, Haley Heynderickx, Joanne Robertson and Sir Richard Bishop, while Chai Wallahs includes Steam Down, Opus Kink and Mari Mathias. Last Laugh lists Kerry Godliman and Garth Marenghi, and Cinedrome includes a BAFTA Wales panel and shorts collection.
Sunday 23 August: Wolf Alice, Sparks and a strong Welsh finish
Wolf Alice lead the final Mountain Stage bill, with Cat Power, Anna Calvi, Dove Ellis, Everything Is Recorded, Alexis Taylor and Eaves Wilder. Far Out offers a very different finish through Sparks, Wednesday, Fcukers, Scientist, Roni Size with MC Fearless, Panic Shack and The Tubs.
The Walled Garden closes with a broad sequence including Tricky, Tara Clerkin Trio, Jennifer Walton, The Gentle Good and GWEN. Cinedrome includes Submarine, The Ballad of Wallis Island, The Sparks Brothers and the Green Man Film Quiz. Last Laugh also has a family-facing Mighty Kids Beatbox Comedy Show and WiFi Wars among its listings.
How to plan Green Man line-up clashes
Choose two anchor performances for each full day, then add one nearby alternative for every gap. That is more realistic than turning the full programme into a rigid checklist. If a smaller-stage artist matters most, arrive early because stage capacity can be reached even when the festival itself is operating normally.
Weekend tickets are sold out. Green Man directs buyers to its official reseller, Tixel, so avoid payment requests made through social-media comments or private messages. The nearest rail station is Abergavenny and the festival advertises a free shuttle, but it tells visitors to allow up to 90 minutes for that journey.
Pack for movement between stages rather than one fixed seat. A light waterproof, refillable bottle, hearing protection and charged power bank are more useful than carrying a large bag all day. Our Welsh weather words guide can help you recognise a few useful forecast terms. If Green Man is one stop on a longer break, our guide to places to visit in Wales is a broad starting point, although the festival's own travel information should lead your journey to the site.
Why the line-up has a strong August search window
As a broad public-interest proxy, the English Wikipedia page for Green Man Festival peaked in August in nine of the ten years from 2016 to 2025. The exception was 2020, when the festival was cancelled. This is not Welsh search volume or a traffic forecast, but it supports the obvious event-cycle pattern: people look for Green Man information immediately before and during the festival.
The best Green Man plan has a few fixed points and room for discovery. Pick the performances you would regret missing, note one comedy or film alternative, and let the route between them introduce the rest of the festival.
