Usk Show 2026: Tickets, Parking and Family Day Guide

Usk Show returns on Saturday 12 September 2026, with the public gates open from 9am to 6pm. The one-day agricultural show brings livestock, horses, horticulture, homecraft, vintage machinery, food and family activity to a 100-acre showground near Gwernesney, outside Usk.

What is at Usk Show 2026?

Usk Show has been held on the second Saturday of September since 1844. Its stable core is the agricultural competition: cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, rabbits, horse showing and showjumping sit alongside horticulture, homecraft and vintage or steam exhibits.

There is also a large shopping and food element. The organiser describes hundreds of outdoor and marquee stands, including an artisan food hall, craft stalls and a street-food market. Families can build the day around the livestock rings, machinery, dog show and children's activity rather than trying to see everything.

Usk Show 2026 tickets and opening times

The live 2026 ticket page lists adult advance admission at £18, with a £20 standard price shown alongside it. Children aged 15 and under are free. A carer ticket route is available, but the organiser asks visitors to follow its current booking and evidence instructions.

Public opening is 9am-6pm. Buy through the official 2026 ticket page, which is the safest place to confirm prices and availability. Some general visitor pages still display 2025 prices, so do not use those older figures.

Free parking, park and ride, and the Usk shuttle

Free parking is available at the showground. The organiser also runs free park-and-ride services from Usk College, Llancayo Windmill and Llangybi, plus a free shuttle between Twyn Square in Usk and the showground. The last Twyn Square bus is listed as leaving the show at 7pm.

The showground is about two miles outside Usk on the B4235 Chepstow Road. On show day, follow event signs rather than relying only on a sat-nav route. Newport and Abergavenny are the nearest mainline railway stations, so a rail journey still needs an onward plan.

Accessibility on a green-field site

Blue Badge holders should use the dedicated Blue Car Park. Mobility scooters and wheelchairs can be booked through the supplier linked from the official accessibility page. Accessible toilets are marked on the show plan, including a hoist and adult changing unit near the main entrance that requires a RADAR key.

The important limitation is the ground itself. Much of the show is on grass, and the organiser says wheelchair and scooter access can depend on the weather. If ground conditions affect your visit, check directly before travelling and reserve mobility equipment in advance.

Can dogs go to Usk Show?

Dogs are welcome on fixed short leads, but they are not permitted in the Food Hall or Homecraft marquees and may be restricted around livestock and horse areas. The companion dog show takes entries on the day from 9.30am, with judging listed for 11am.

Bring water, allow for crowds and warm weather, and be ready to change route if an area is unsuitable for your dog. The ticket page gives the clearest short version of the current rules.

A simple plan for a first family visit

1. Arrive early. Use the first hour for a favourite livestock section before paths become busier.
