Aberystwyth Comedy Festival 2026: Tickets and Visitor Guide
On this page
Aberystwyth Comedy Festival runs from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October 2026, bringing around 50 shows to six spaces at Aberystwyth Arts Centre. You buy tickets for individual performances, so a visit can be one carefully chosen show or a full weekend.
This guide explains how the festival works, which 2026 names stand out, where to collect tickets and what to check before travelling.

How Aberystwyth Comedy Festival works
The festival is produced by Little Wander, the team behind Machynlleth Comedy Festival. The two events have different purposes: Machynlleth is known for works in progress in spring, while the Aberystwyth weekend combines completed touring shows with selected previews in autumn.
The Arts Centre is free to enter, but each comedy show needs its own ticket. Book online before the weekend if there is a performance you particularly want to see. Remaining tickets are sold through the festival box office in the Arts Centre, not at the door of each individual room.
Arrive at the correct space about 15 minutes before the advertised start with your ticket ready to scan. Check the age guidance for every show, because the programme includes adult material as well as dedicated family performances.
Aberystwyth Comedy Festival 2026 highlights
The Friday programme includes Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Amy Matthews, Ignacio Lopez, Flo & Joan and Robert White. The weekend then expands across the Arts Centre's rooms, with performers including Jazz Emu, Chloe Petts, Rich Hall, Paul Foot, Mike Wozniak and Celya AB.

Families can look for Robin Morgan's Saturday lunchtime show. Sunday also includes Comedy Translates / Comedi'n Cyfeithu, a bilingual performance designed so that people do not need to speak Welsh to follow it.
The festival's Welsh name is Gลตyl Gomedi Aberystwyth. The live programme remains the authority for times, prices, age limits, late additions and sold-out notices.

Build a schedule that leaves breathing room
A comedy festival becomes less enjoyable when every changeover is a sprint. Start with one must-see show, add a second performance in a nearby room and leave enough time for food, queues and finding the next entrance.
A screenshot of your personal timetable can also be useful when moving between rooms.
- Check running times as well as start times. Many shows last about an hour, but do not assume they all do.
- Allow for popular performances to sell out. Keep a second choice for each part of the day.
- Use the festival hub. It is the sensible place to collect information and ask about remaining tickets.
- Keep one gap unplanned. It gives you time for the cafe, an unexpected recommendation or a walk outside.
Getting to Aberystwyth Arts Centre
The festival hub is on Aberystwyth University's Penglais Campus, about one mile from Aberystwyth railway station. The organiser warns that the route climbs a fairly steep hill, so allow more time than the distance alone suggests or consider a taxi or local bus.

Aberystwyth has direct rail services from Birmingham via Shrewsbury and Machynlleth. Check the live timetable before travelling, especially for the last service home on Friday or Saturday night. Our guide to autumn train journeys in Wales gives more context for planning a scenic rail day. Drivers should use the Arts Centre's current visitor and parking information rather than an older festival map.
If you are staying between shows, the Arts Centre has a cafe, while the town centre and promenade provide more places to eat and a straightforward change of scene. For a longer coastal stay, begin with our Wales Coast Path beginner's guide.

Accessibility and Hynt tickets
The festival directs visitors to the Arts Centre's detailed access information and visitor support pack. Its programme uses several rooms with different capacities and layouts, so check the individual venue page rather than assuming every space has the same route or seating.
Hynt members should follow the booking instructions shown on the relevant performance page before purchasing. Anyone who needs wheelchair space, step-free routing, captioning or another adjustment should contact the festival's accessibility team in advance through the official access page.
What to check before you go
Recheck the programme for time or room changes, sold-out notices and age restrictions. Confirm your travel home, save the box-office location and keep tickets available offline in case reception is slow inside the building.
