Wales Comic Con returns to Llangollen Pavilion on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026. The bank-holiday event brings together celebrity guests, cosplay, gaming, artists, traders and live question-and-answer sessions.

What to expect at Wales Comic Con 2026
The official event site describes a broad pop-culture weekend spanning superheroes, science fiction, fantasy and horror. Alongside celebrity signing areas, visitors can expect cosplay, a gaming zone, artists and writers, traders, and live Q&A panels.
It is useful to think of the event as several experiences sharing one venue. Some visitors build their day around a particular guest. Others concentrate on costumes, gaming or browsing the stalls. Decide on one or two priorities before arrival rather than trying to see everything.
The detailed panel and photo schedules are normally released only a few days before the event. Organisers warn that published times remain guidelines and can change over the weekend.
Tickets, entry times and children
General-entry ticket holders can enter from 11am on Saturday and Sunday. Priority and weekend-pass holders can enter from 9.30am on Saturday and 10am on Sunday. Saturday closes at 6pm and Sunday at 5pm.
Children aged 11 and under enter free when accompanied by a paying adult, but the organiser says a free child ticket must still be reserved during booking. Reduced-price General and Priority tickets are offered for ages 12-15.
VIP tiers include benefits such as priority entry, photo-op vouchers and faster photo queues. These do not make autographs free. Check exactly what a package includes, booking fees and current availability on the official ticket page.
Guests, autographs and photo opportunities
Guest appearances are one of the main attractions, but they are also the most changeable part of a convention. Attendance days differ, professional commitments can cause cancellations, and autograph or photo prices are set separately.
Use the live guest list to confirm who is attending on your chosen day. The organiser recommends pre-booking busy photo opportunities. Autograph tables provide a selection of images, although guests may also sign suitable personal items at their discretion.
Q&A panels do not normally require a separate advance reservation: visitors can join the audience at the listed time, subject to room capacity. The complete timetable is deliberately omitted here because the official schedule is released close to the weekend and may change.
Cosplay without making the day stressful
Cosplay is welcome, and an official masquerade gives entrants a chance to appear on stage. Read the current costume and prop rules before travelling, especially if an outfit includes a replica weapon, large wings or anything difficult to carry through crowds.
- Test the full costume at home, including shoes and visibility.
- Carry a small repair kit, water and an ordinary layer for breaks.
- Ask before photographing another attendee.
- Leave extra time for entry checks and crowded corridors.
Accessibility and carer support
Wales Comic Con operates an advance Access Pass. Approved visitors can use a shorter entry queue and reduced photo-op queues. A complimentary Carers Pass is available for qualifying applicants who need additional support.
The organiser says applications are reviewed in advance and passes cannot be issued on the day. Bring a copy or screenshot of the approval email. Anyone with specific requirements should read the official accessibility information and contact the access team before the deadline.
Getting to Llangollen Pavilion and parking
The venue address is Abbey Road, Llangollen, LL20 8SW. Pre-booked event parking is sold through the official store. Its current listing says on-the-day parking costs £10 when space remains, so do not assume a place will be available without checking.
Llangollen has no mainline railway station. Travellers using public transport will normally combine rail and bus, commonly through Ruabon or Wrexham depending on the journey. Check the complete bank-holiday route shortly before departure with Traveline Cymru, including the last return connection.
The town and its roads can be busy during major events. Allow more time than the map estimate, and avoid scheduling a paid photo opportunity too close to your expected arrival.
